Store Manager – Luxury Retail

DB Charles Recruitment are working on a very exciting new opportunity for a superb retail brand, that have recently opened a new store in Central London that want to hire a new Store Manager to take the new store from scratch to success. This is not an opportunity to be missed.

The retail business and brand are renowned for the market they operate within, having demonstrated success in stores across the UK & London. The history of the business and people are at the heart of the brand and due to success of the business in recent times, they are ready to launch a brand new store. The business are excited by hiring someone that can put there stamp on the role & store, treating it almost like a franchise.

The role is a permanent position, reporting into senior leadership and initially managing / working with 2 others in the store. Some key day to day duties for the role will be:

  • Store management, aiding in tasks to push a brand new store opening, to then establishing consistent high levels of sales, service & operation.
  • Team / People management
  • Creating fantastic store visual standards
  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Driving & maximising sales
  • Recruit, retain and develop staff to enhance the values of the brand
  • Making daily commercial decisions
  • Establishing and working towards key KPI’s & targets
  • Daily walkthroughs to identify opportunities to increase sales
  • Ensuring the team are deployed effectively
  • Being aware of upselling and cross selling opportunities
  • Working with marketing and senior leadership on new ideas & incentives
  • Promoting training and development
  • Driving productivity

DB Charles have spoken at length with the client on the various skill sets and backgrounds they seek in order to hire, including a number of the below:

  • A strong retail background in either store management or senior store management
  • A retail background working within a boutique luxury or premium environment
  • A consultative retail background
  • Experienced in 1-2-1 retail selling
  • Experienced in managing KPIs and budgets to effectively run and improve store performance
  • Track record of driving sales and performance
  • A demonstrable background in managing a team
  • Someone sales driven however with the ability to combine this with outstanding service level skills
  • An understanding of the moment and emotion that goes with customers buying high end luxury goods.

  • Ability to deliver training and development
  • Consistent
  • Excels in handling management situations
  • Ability to commit to a store based in Central London

For this role, the client is looking for a Store Manager to work 42 hours per week, with a rough guide on store opening times being, Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sundays 12pm till 5pm.The role will offer an initial salary of £50,000 per annum, plus the below:

  • Increased salary upon completion of a successful 6 month probation period
