Graduate Logistics & Supply Chain Assistant

A reputable St Albans based business with a track record spanning over 30 – 40 years are growing the team and have approached DB Charles Recruitment to aid them in finding an entry level / graduate Logistics & Supply Chain Assistant.

The new hired individual does not have to have experience within Logistics or Supply Chain yet, however it would be advantageous but they simply need to have a passion for this career route and a good grasp of Microsoft Excel. They will be responsible for learning and taking charge of the overall supply chain management process, including aspects such as organising and monitoring storage and distribution of goods, plus staying on top of shipping deliveries. Other day to day duties included will be:

• Speaking with suppliers & carriers
• Tracking shipments
• Updating delivery schedules
• Delivery planning
• Working closely with the warehouse team
• Stock management & reporting
• Documentation
• Team meetings
• Raising purchase orders
• Reporting & administration

For this role, the client is seeking CV’s with aspects of the following skill sets:

• A passion to start a role & career in logistics / supply chain / distribution or stock management. Any prior experience or exposure to these areas would be beneficial
• A keen desire to learn and be trained
• A background of dealing with people & customers face to face and via the telephone & email.
• A degree graduate would be advantageous however not essential
• Highly organised with excellent communication skills
• Very personable
• Strong systems skills in particular with MS Excel, up to V Look Up & Pivot Table standard
• Team player with innovative ideas
• Able to commit to a permanent role office based in St Albans

The role will be working Monday to Friday, with working hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm and the client is looking to offer a salary of £24,000 per annum. The role also offers:
