Continuous Improvement Manager

DB Charles have partnered with an incredibly successful business based in Shildon, Durham that have various sites throughout the UK and the world. The business have been in conversation with DB Charles and are now pleased to release to the market that they are currently seeking to hire a new permanent Continuous Improvement Manager to join the business and contribute to the successful team on-site.

The business are a well known global brand within manufacturing & distribution and are looking to attract a new candidate to begin working with the business as soon as possible.

The role as a Continuous Improvement Manager will be reporting into the UK Site Director and they will overall be responsible for developing, leading and implementing a continuous program of improvement through Lean techniques and other methods. The hired candidate will take charge of strategic planning and tactical deployment of improvement initiatives

On top of this, the role holds a variety of duties and day to day responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Delivering process engineering needs
  • Recommending and implementing new improvement strategies
  • Utilising methodologies to further the progress of the business and its operations
  • Program, people and project management across various sites
  • Mentoring and coaching
  • Working closely with and providing support to a number of key business personnel such as other Directors and Managers
  • Reporting duties
  • Lean deliverance
  • Process improvement
  • Waste elimination

These are the main responsibilities for the role however other duties and reporting will become apparent as the role progresses.

Ideally the client is looking for CV’s and to interview candidates with the following skill sets:

  • A candidate that holds a strong background within Continuous Improvement
  • A career background managing people and teams
  • Preferably a background within Manufacturing & Distribution or Engineering
  • Experience with Lean & Process engineering a must
  • Ability to project plan and stick to deadlines
  • A methodical individual
  • Experience of tools such 5s, VSM & SMED
  • Ability to coach and mentor
  • Highly numerate and analytical
  • Ability to commit to a permanent role based in Shildon with travel involved with the position

The role is seeking to pay a salary per annum dependent on experience at a bracket varying from £40,000 to £50,000K per annum with other company benefits on offer, such as:
