Architectural / CAD Technician

DB Charles have recently partnered with a thriving architectural practice based in Worthing, that have seen great recovery and busy times return as the U.K. has recovered from the impact of COVID-19. The business are now working with DB Charles Recruitment to identify and hire an Architectural / CAD Technician.

The business initially formed after 2005 and focusses on architecture & design predominantly within the hospitality sector. Since formation, the business have never lost sight of the passion at which they must operate with. Each project & client always receives the great care & attention it deserves, this is evident in the business having received multiple awards over the years and promoting a happy business & staff environment and culture.

The role as Architectural / CAD Technician will primarily be responsible for collating and organising technical building information gathered from the lead architect & project managers, plus immersing themselves in preparing designs using AutoCAD design software. Day to day duties for the role will include:

• Collating technical building information
• Preparing designs via AutoCAD & SketchUp
• Investigating and offering technical advice
• Producing detailed design information
• Preparing specifications
• Preparing drawings, plans, and documents for approval, plus ensuring all work is in line with building regulations
• Internal meetings
• Reporting
• General administration

For this role, the client has asked DB Charles to find candidates with the following aspects:

• Career background as an Architectural / CAD Technician
• Background from the leisure & hospitality industry would be preferable however not essential
• Strong skills in AutoCAD & SketchUp
• Strong technical building construction knowledge
• Strong ability in producing technical drawings
• Deadline management
• Understanding of materials & building regulations
• Ability to commit to a permanent role, office based in Worthing

The role will be working Monday to Friday with working hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm and the client is looking to offer a salary dependent of experience between £30,000 to £35,000 per annum. Again, important to note, this role will be office based.
